Health & Wellness Center

Welcome to the Hope Springs Health & Wellness Center, where you will learn to take an active role in your health care and become an empowered self-manager. Certainly you will need the help of health professionals – perhaps a number of them – on your journey with chronic disease pain, but the person who will have the greatest effect on your health and how you manage your disease is you.

Your doctor can prescribe medications, but it is up to you to fill the prescriptions and take them as prescribed. Your physical therapist can recommend exercises, but they won’t help if you don’t do them faithfully. Your health providers can answer your questions, but only if you ask them.

Having a chronic disease often means keeping up with many appointments and multiple instructions from a team of professions you assemble to provide your care. It requires learning all you can about your condition, trying different therapies and working with your doctor to find the one that works best for you. It involves asking questions and trusting your providers’ answers, but knowing that ultimately your treatment decisions rest with you.

At the Hope Springs Health and Wellness Center you will learn how you can be more involved in your treatment overall. You’ll learn about the various professionals you should recruit for your health care team, how to prepare for your medical appointments and how your feelings and emotions can affect your pain.
